Compensation in Military Claims
The Military Claims Department covers compensation claims for personal injury, medical negligence and employment cases for members of Her Majesty's Armed Forces, NAAFI and civilian Ministry of Defence employees, and their families.
Often the claim will be against the Ministry of Defence (MoD) but it can be against someone else, depending on the circumstances.
Types of military claim include:
Personal Injury
- Injury or death on operations such as Op TELIC in Iraq which did not occur in the heat of battle
- Injury or death on exercise
- Injury or death in RTAs both in the UK and abroad
Medical negligence
- Death or injury as a result of negligent medical or dental treatment in the UK, * Germany, * Cyprus and indeed wherever service personnel/their families are based, both in MoD and non-MoD establishments
Employment
- Race and sex discrimination and *actions on behalf of reservists.
- Unfair dismissal claims by NAAFI employees and civilian members of the MoD
